17 common carnivore diet mistakes

When I first started eating a Carnivore Diet, I made several mistakes that hindered my success and that were even quite painful at times. I see many of those same issues come up in the carnivore community over and over again, and I’m passionate about helping people work through them to finally feel better.

In this video, I share my journey in just 30 seconds and delve into the common mistakes people make on their dietary path-and solutions. We start by discussing the “charcuterie diet” mistake (01:00) and the problem of under-eating (02:22). Some fall into the trap of over-stuffing themselves intentionally (02:41), while others make abrupt dietary adjustments (04:01). We then cover the fear of dietary fat (05:20) and potential issues with dairy and eggs (06:26).

Reading ingredient labels is crucial (07:18), as is being prepared (07:53) and staying active (08:41). I emphasize focusing on what we can control (09:41), not fearing data (11:20), and embracing the fabulous habit tracker (12:15). Mimicking others (13:50) and having unrealistic expectations (15:56) can derail progress, as can trying to go it alone (17:39) and maintaining a negative mindset (18:20). Finally, I warn against needlessly excluding variety (20:57).

I hope something here is helpful, and if you’re willing to share any of your experiences in the comment section on YouTube, I would love to hear from you!

  1. Kelly thank you for all you do! Support for bulimia. Need to be accountable for my action. From someone that can eat 30 to 40 thousand calories a day. Don’t know when hungry or full. Actually hate filling of fullness. Will eat protein ,but before day is finished several thousand carbs are consumed. I know I have to stop at earge,or thoughts of consuming. Need help with being able to call or text someone at that time for support before I act.
