How coaching member Cindi customized the carnivore diet, found the path to shedding those last pounds, and maintained her goal weight.

My long-time group member, Cindi Brinson, had her doubts about the carnivore diet when she first began, and over time, she realized several voices in the community were giving conflicting advice–and leading her to set-backs.

When she found her way to My Zero Carb Life, Cindi was ready for clarity. Through coaching, she realized that there were several methods for success on the carnivore diet, and we worked to find the path that would be effective for her. After two years of progress, Cindi has lost nearly 40 pounds–and she’s now maintaining her lowest adult weight ever at age 75.

Cindi talks about several important strategies that worked for her:

  • Improving Sleep. Cindi never slept well, but after learning about methods like mouth-taping, using blue light blocking glasses, and minding her eating schedule, she improved it greatly.
  • Calorie Tracking. Cindi never kept up with what she ate, but after using tools that we talked about in coaching, she found a way to maintain a slight caloric deficit and avoid overeating.
  • Metabolic Reset Days. Now and then, Cindi will plug in an occasional calorie deficit day, eating much less than normal (but still eating) to help her reset her metabolism.
  • Physical Activity. Cindi created a movement routine that worked for her. She started with one-minute walks and worked up to more regular exercise as she was able.

It’s never too late to work on living your life well. Cindi’s story is inspiring to me because it proves that it pays to listen to your body. No two bodies are the same, and finding a customized approach to the carnivore diet, tailoring how you eat to your own specific needs, is a key to success. It doesn’t hurt to have a community of supporters rallying behind you, either!
