Healthy Hair on Carnivore: Simple Tips That Work

Hey, friends! Are you noticing more hair in the shower drain since starting a carnivore diet? Don’t panic—you’re not alone! In my latest video with the amazing Dani Conway, we dive into why hair loss can happen and, more importantly, what you can do about it.

First, let’s talk about the biggie: undereating. Even on carnivore, it’s easy to accidentally eat too little. Dani and I break down why getting enough protein and fat is non-negotiable for healthy hair and how you can make sure you’re fueling your body right. Spoiler alert: the solution might just be…more meat!

We also dig into stress. Did you know that life’s curveballs—or even just big changes like starting carnivore—can make your hair throw a little tantrum? Stress messes with your hormones and nutrient absorption, but don’t worry—we’ve got tips to help you calm that chaos and support your hair growth.

And here’s something you might not have thought about: nutrient absorption. Even if you’re eating all the beef, your body might not be soaking up the good stuff if your gut isn’t happy. Dani explains how to figure out if this is your issue and what to do about it.

If you’re struggling with hair loss, don’t give up on carnivore! In this video, Dani and I cover everything from cheat days (and why they might be messing with you!) to practical fixes that get results.

So grab a steak and settle in—it’s time to get your hair and your confidence back. Watch the full video now and see how you can thrive on carnivore while keeping your locks healthy and happy! You’ve got this!

  1. I’ve been carnivore for 16 months and at month 11 my hair started falling out and hasn’t stopped. I upped my fat and protein and it’s still falling out. I’ve lost over half of my long, thick blonde hair and I’m at a loss.

  2. Hello, Kelly; I love watching your cheerful and sensible videos. You just perk me up every time you speak on a topic regarding Carnivore. The people you interview are always on the same page as you and probably most of your viewers. I’m 73 yo and will be 74 in March 2025. I started the Carnivore diet on Dr. Berry’s 30 day challenge and then decided to go for the 90 days. I am currently on day 121. I have to say that it is the best thing I have ever done in all my years (always struggled to lose weight and went on every diet I could come across which all failed in the end.) I found that it is too much work counting calories for the MANY food items I wanted to eat in a meal, not to mention the 3 Macros (Protein, Fat, and Carbs. I bought into the “need for carbs in order to be healthy. ” What a waste of time in all those years. My sister, 71 yo started the Carnivore diet before me and now I am on the Carnivore train. We are both learning about health and nutrition together from our own researching and listening to experienced people such as you and Dr. Berry, et al . We live almost 1,500 miles apart from each other but we have been supporting one another with a simple trick of taking a picture of our 2 meals a day. Then we have every Saturday as our “Weigh in day.” I also have to say that it is taking me some time to lose weight (I have only lost 11 lb. these past 121 days) and my goal is to get to 130 lb., therefore, 19 more lb. to go. BUT, I am completely sasiated after every meal. I have absolutely NO CRAVINGS for anything other than BBB& Eggs. Once in a while I take a Tbsp of my husband’s raw A2 /A2 cream when I feel like celebrating and treating myself. I had the diarrhea issues the firsrt 2 months, but I carried on. I have ups and downs on the weight and my sister keeps telling me its ok because of the many changes that are probably going on in my body. I have two major concerns to overcome, hopefully, and they are Osetoarthritis in both my knees(did not have surgeries) and a recently discovered Left Mitral Valve Regurgitation of the heart – mild stage, which Dr. Berry has said should not be a problem being on the Carnivore diet. The Osteoarthritis keeps me from exercising as when I make an attempt to start some walking outdoors or treadmill, I end up with stiffness for days. I just know it is the inflammation. Another issue I have of concern is what I was diagnosed has having Folliculitus of the hair follicules. I have been battling this for over seven years or so, trying all kinds of treatments to apply to my scalp. I think it is this problem that is causing me to start losing hair along with some personal stress and lack of sleep and exercise. Well; I think I have probably rambled on too much. Thank you reading this and if you have time, perhaps you might have some suggestions for me. I’d appreciate anything you might have to say. God bless you, Kelly, and have a very Merry Christmas. 1. Kathleen, your story is amazing, and your dedication is inspiring! It’s normal for weight loss to slow as your body heals, so focus on how much better you feel overall. For your knees, consider adding omega-3 foods like salmon and trying gentle movement, like short walks, can help with inflammation. For your scalp and hair, make sure you’re eating enough foods rich in zinc and protein, like beef liver and eggs. If dairy or eggs are causing issues, try leaving them out for a while to see if it helps. Managing stress and getting good sleep are also important for healing. Your heart health will benefit from the carnivore diet, so keep eating nutrient-rich foods and consider adding magnesium-rich meats like pork. Keep celebrating your progress, no matter how small!
