“Healthy” foods were making Cristina sick.
Sometimes the most powerful healing stories don’t start with junk food—they start with doing everything “right” and still getting sicker. In this episode of My Zero Carb Life, I sit down with longtime community member Cristina Clark to share how an all-meat approach became the unexpected answer after years of food intolerances, hidden binge eating, medical dismissal, and sheer exhaustion. Her story is raw, honest, and full of hope for anyone who feels like they’ve run out of options.
Cristina wasn’t living on donuts and soda. She had already cut gluten, dairy, sugar, and processed foods. She was eating what most people would call a “clean” diet—veggie straws, Ezekiel bread, smoothies, sweet potatoes. And yet, her body was in constant revolt. Swelling, pain, brain fog, and food reactions became her daily reality, even after careful restaurant ordering and strict rules.
After a severe flare at a conference left her reacting to everything for months, Cristina realized she couldn’t think or coach her way out of this. She needed a true elimination—something radical enough to calm her system.
Choosing Carnivore When Nothing Else Worked
Like many people, Cristina initially thought an all-meat diet sounded extreme. But desperation has a way of opening our minds. After diving deep into research and listening to stories like Michaela Peterson’s, she committed to trying carnivore for at least 21 days.
Those first weeks were brutal. Fatigue hit hard. But around day 18, something shifted—clarity returned, energy lifted, and her body finally felt safe again. That’s when she knew she was on the right path.
Healing Isn’t Linear—and That’s Okay
Cristina also shares honestly about grief, stress, and a season where weight returned during intense family challenges. This wasn’t failure—it was physiology. Chronic stress impacts hormones, cortisol, and healing, especially for women. Her story is a powerful reminder that compassion matters just as much as consistency.
Today, she thrives on a very simple approach: beef, fat, salt, and water. Not because it’s trendy—but because it works for her.
About Binge Eating, Nourishment, and Freedom
One of the most meaningful parts of our conversation centers on binge eating. Cristina explains why under-eating, fearing fat, and self-blame keep people stuck—and why real nourishment, especially fatty red meat, quiets food noise and restores trust with the body.

Freedom is possible.
Healing is easier—and far more sustainable—when you’re surrounded by people who understand the path.
