You get to “choose your hard”
Today I want to share a simple but powerful truth: you get to choose your hard. Whether it’s with your health, your habits, or your life, challenges are unavoidable—but we get to decide which ones we’re willing to take on. For me, choosing the carnivore diet over the pain of my old lifestyle has been one of the best decisions of my life.
Before I started eating meat in 2004, I lived on carbs and sugar. It felt easy to eat pasta, bread, and desserts every day, but the consequences were anything but easy. I was 130 pounds overweight, battling constant boils, anxiety, costochondritis, infertility, and more. Even small joys like hiking or finding clothes that fit became hard. Deep down, I knew something had to change.
When my doctor suggested I cut out carbs and eat only meat, it sounded like the hardest thing ever. And honestly, it was—for a while. The first two weeks, I craved sugar like crazy, and my hands were shaky. But soon, the pain and inflammation in my body began to melt away. My skin cleared up, my energy returned, and my anxiety lifted. After just one month, I knew I’d made the right choice.
The carnivore diet isn’t always easy, but neither is staying stuck in pain, sickness, or regret. Life will always be hard—but you get to choose your hard. I chose meat, healing, and freedom. You can too! Eat the meat, save the humans, and choose your hard.
