A Touchy Carnivore Topic

A “Tail” of Two Carnivores…

In the diet and nutrition space, the topic of Calories is much-debated with wildly varying opinions and conflicting advice.  And in the Carnivore arena, it can become downright HEATED. “Heated” like an Otto-Wilde grill on full blast preparing to put the perfect crust on a marbled ribeye.  Now THAT’S hot, folks.

I’ve read, studied, listened to, and long-considered the existing research along with my own Carnivore results, and I finally feel confident enough to share my thoughts on the deep topic of Calories and whether or not we should try adjusting them on a Carnivore diet.  I aimed to sum all that up in a 30-minute video.  (I missed that mark by 1-minute, but the last minute was pretty important, so it stays.)

I’m a big advocate of “intuitive eating” and keeping things incredibly simple as a Carnivore. Just eat meat until you’re full and repeat when you’re hungry again.  Easy.  Beautiful.

…As long as it works.

In this video, I tell the story of my two dogs and how differently they responded to “intuitive eating” on a 100% Carnivore Diet. One dog got healthy and remained at a perfect weight while the other gained weight so quickly that his collar no longer fit, and he could no longer jump up on the couch.  But why would an animal gain weight on a species-appropriate diet??  Let’s talk it out: If you watch the video and have thoughts and personal experiences regarding measuring and adjusting Calories as a Carnivore, I’d love to read them in the comments on YouTube.  Do you get the results you want from the simplest and most intuitive version of Carnivore, or do you require some data management and tracking?  (I promise that there is no wrong answer here. If it works for you, that’s ALL you need to know.)

If you need more help, I’d love to dig in and work with you in my coaching groups.  Sign-ups are happening now for January.  There are two ways to sign up:

Single-month coaching allows you to pay for one month at a time. There’s no obligation to renew, and after the month is over, you’re no longer enrolled. Single-month can be perfect for those members who just want to give coaching a try.

Renewing coaching memberships allow you to remain enrolled in your class. Lots of members discover they’re successful with coaching, and they want to continue–but because classes often sell out, they miss out on the opportunity to stay enrolled. That’s why I created renewing memberships. Sign up once, and you’re all set!
