It’s a new year, and January is World Carnivore Month!

It’s fun to see the internet more excited than ever about eating this way!  In my world (and maybe yours), EVERY month is “World Carnivore Month,” since there are zero months I want to feel less than my best.  I eat only animal products every day because if I don’t, my leg cramps return along with anxiety and food-obsession, and if I did that day after day, I would be right back to where I began: miserable, obese, inflamed, and losing the constant battle against sugar addiction.  So yes, this month and every month is the perfect time for me to do Carnivore.

Instead of making “New Year Resolutions,” I make monthly commitments, and it has worked well for me for many years now.  In my groups, we each commit to doing some specific things that we feel are doable, are a step in the right direction, and that we feel certain would benefit us if we stick to them for one month.  Each person determines what that would look like for them, and then we commit to those things for the month.

This month, many of my current group members have committed to eating only animal products and to moving more (especially by taking walks after meals, which is incredibly helpful for weight loss). Some of them are waiting to drink their coffee until after they eat each day and until they get a little sunlight into their eyes (which is better than drinking coffee on an empty stomach when it comes to bringing down morning cortisol levels).

Others are eating more fish (which is great for giving us Omega 3s and for lowering inflammation), and some are journaling, reading, meditating, and praying, which are all wonderful for calming the nervous system. It’s always exciting to see how much better people feel and how their results improve when they make changes and stick to them.

Habit tracking is highly effective! Here are three quick tips:

  1. I track my habits and share them daily with my group members and on my Instagram stories. It keeps me accountable, and I encourage others to do the same.
  2. I use this app on my iPhone, but there are many other fun ways to track new habits, including checking them off on graph paper, bubbling them in on a chart like the one I send my members, or using apps like these for Android phones.
  3. If you want to hear more about how to build new habits, I created this video with Karen Miles a couple of years ago in which we discuss the book “Atomic Habits” by James Clear.

And if you need more help and group support, I’d love to dig in and work with you in my coaching groups.  Sign-ups are happening now for February.  There are two ways to sign up:

  • Single-month coaching allows you to pay for one month at a time. There’s no obligation to renew, and after the month is over, you’re no longer enrolled. Single-month coaching can be perfect for those members who just want to give coaching a try.
  • Renewing coaching memberships allows you to remain enrolled in your class. Lots of members discover they’re successful with coaching, and they want to continue–but because classes often sell out, they miss out on the opportunity to stay enrolled. That’s why I created renewing memberships. Sign up once, and you’re all set!

As always, you can learn more about how coaching groups work, and if you have time, be sure to check out some of my clients’ success stories. I promise they’ll inspire you as you plan your own success for 2024.

Happy New Year!
